Professional History
-
Project Manager (Strategic Projects) 2021 - Present
Plan and execute corporate strategy to launch a world class manufacturing facility while relocating skills and technology from the Northeastern US to the Southeastern US. Launched a manufacturing facility utilizing new technology and equipment by leading diverse teams to improve product first pass yield while reducing overhead and costs. Focus on driving growth at the newly consolidated manufacturing site. Conduct weekly project status meetings including financial and organizational design status updates with the COO, CFO, and Board of Directors.
Led significant product turnaround to improve first pass yield and reduction of warranty claims on poor performing products as measured by MRBS (mean rounds between stoppages). Delivered a product from 100 MRBS to 2500 MRBS which outperforms existing flagship products by 2.5 times. Challenged by Board of Directors to replicate the improvements through the rest of the product portfolio.
Assumed leadership of R&D laboratory to improve productivity and financial performance. Shortened new product development process and launched new products through all development phases in a reduced timeline from 5 years to 8 months. After 8 months turnaround performance recognized by executive leadership. Focus on deep dive cost analysis of the facility. Developed a cost calculator to examine the ROI for product development testing. Introduced new technology to reduce physical strain on testing technicians.
-
Adjunct Professor 2022 - Present
Teaches Physical Science to university students as part of the Physics Department.
-
Graduate Research Assistant 2018 - 2021
Consulted for the Ford Motor Company on establishing an insurance partnership between Ford and State Farm. Influenced the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety to evaluate marginalized automotive markets. Analyzed car accidents involving advanced driver assistance systems culminating in a patent for a next generation connected vehicle safety system.
Pioneered new novel models and simulations able to predict accident behavior.
-
Affiliate Research Faculty 2018 - 2019
Part of the College of Engineering’s visiting research fellows exploring mental models and engineering education.
-
Project Engineer 2016 - 2018
Planned aircraft carrier overhaul, allocating over $1 Billion, as planning team lead using PERT and CPM diagrams. Advised senior management weekly on the progress of department work. Directed the repair of nuclear aircraft carriers. Lead statistical analysis for process improvement as an engineer. Holds a Secret Clearance.
-
Mechanical Engineer Intern 2016
Developed a process for rapid manufacturing of bespoke high-end women’s shoes. Accelerated the bespoke stilettos manufacturing time by months and reduced costs over traditional methods. Performed engineering forensic analysis under the guidance of a PE on two court cases.
-
Designed composite passive dynamic orthotics for wounded veterans using additive manufacturing. Slashed production time from one month to less than 24 hours and device cost from $20,000 to $1,000. Attained by optimizing models of the human ankle-foot orthotic for the generation of a universal ply set. Developed database software for storing information relating to patients and orthotics. This DARPA and ARL program now affords disabled veterans the ability to walk.
